Optimism vs Pessimism – For Muslims, is the Glass half full or empty?

A Muslim should align very much so with optimism rather than pessimism –  in everything. search

Some will have you believe that a Muslim should be in a constant state of grief given “what the Ummah is going through”, did that stop our Prophet from displaying visible signs of happiness in the form of a smile?

A smile, even if forced, can actually induce feelings of actual happiness or greater positive emotions – as studies have shown. [insert reference] expand

At the end of the day, or at the end of life – this is just the Dunya, anyway. Is that not such a liberating thought?

There’s a saying along the lines of: “Bridging the gap between what you want to happen in life, and what actually happens in life, with humour, is a habit of the wise.” Next time you feel slightly overwhelmed, smile and think to yourself, “This is the Dunya, anyway”
